Welcome to True Smile Design

True Smile Design is more than a technique—it’s a progressive philosophy that redefines how we approach smile design through education, innovation, and real-time clinical insight. Developed by Dr. Rami Salloum, a board-certified implant dentist and a pioneer in digital restorative workflows, this concept was born from a desire to overcome the limitations of traditional digital smile design and offer a more predictable, patient-centered path to esthetic excellence.

At its core, True Smile Design challenges the conventional approach of finalizing esthetic plans before any clinical work begins. While upfront digital mockups may look impressive, they often fail to reflect the realities that emerge once treatment starts. Dr. Salloum experienced firsthand how initial designs and wax-ups frequently fall short in translating to a truly accurate final result.

Instead, True Smile Design embraces a dynamic, adaptive workflow. The process begins with a streamlined digital smile plan and a quick wax-up—tools that act as visual references rather than rigid blueprints. Once teeth are prepared, the first provisional is fabricated. But rather than serving as the final product, this initial version becomes a diagnostic tool—an esthetic prototype that guides the next phase of refinement.

intraoral scans of both the first provisional and the prepared teeth, a second, more accurate prototype is created. This stage is facially driven, functionally informed, and highly individualized—reflecting not only the patient’s anatomy but also their personality and desires.

This methodology reflects our belief that every smile is a work of art, shaped by real-time feedback and continuous improvement.

True Smile Design celebrates the uniqueness of each case, leveraging post-operative data to guide refinement rather than relying solely on pre-operative assumptions. The goal is not to predict success but to co-create it—step by step—until the final restoration is a perfect expression of the patient’s vision. Our educational journey empowers dental professionals to work collaboratively with their patients, using each prototype as a stepping stone toward perfection. By the time the final restoration is crafted—in the material of choice—it is the result of deliberate evolution, not guesswork.

Why True Smile Design?

Because every smile deserves more than a one-size-fits-all plan. It deserves an approach that minimizes uncertainty and maximizes precision. It deserves a system that transforms static design into an artistic, data-informed journey—culminating in a result that is not only esthetically stunning but clinically sound.

Join us in redefining smile transformation. True Smile Design is not just a technique—it’s a canvas of education and innovation, designed to elevate dental professionals and deliver truly individualized smiles.
